Als Ergebnis unseres Gedankenaustauschs habe ich auf Github das Issue #628 zum Thema angelegt, damit auch jene, die hier nicht mitlesen beziehungsweise unserer deutschsprachigen Diskussion nicht folgen können, Gedanken dazu äußern können. Wie gesagt, eine Entscheidung steht noch aus. Ich persönlich tendiere zur Reimplementierung in einem modernen Kleid (als iframe).
