Smarty 3 and {php} - my little forum

Hi Milo,
Is it possible for you to help me. I have just updated and have a problem.

In my main.tbl file I had an include:
{php}
include( $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/public/includes/navbar.inc');
{/php}

This does not work with the new version of MLF

I have tried things like:
{include_php $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/public/includes/navbar.inc'}

Nothing seems to work.
I'm pulling my hair out (almost bald anyway)
I hope you or someone can help me before I go mad.
