Some Members Cannot Post (Bugs)

by edkgb, Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 09:24 (5035 days ago)

Hi

I am still getting complaints from members that they cannot post messages.

In all cases it is because they are using IE8 in compatibility mode.

This has only occured since MLF 2.2

Can you please help.

Regards
Eddie

I wonder if they are having the same trouble some of my users with older versions of IE had. The link truly was there, but it was invisible in IE6 and IE in compatibility mode.

Hi Wendal,
Many thanks for your reply but my problem is somewhat different.

It only happens in IE8 when in compatibility mode.
When trying 'Preview' or 'Ok-submit' page cannot be found.

This does not happen on MLF site. So it looks as if it could be a server difference.

From what I can see from the headers:-
MLF uses PHP 5.2.9 and Apache 2.0.63
My server uses PHP 5.2.13 and Apache 2.2.15

I would be grateful if either you or anyone can confirm that this could be the problem.

I have at last found out what the problem is.

The problem appears to be something to do with the Smilies

If I turn the Smilies off everyone can post ok.

This applies to both of my message boards.

Does anyone have any idea why ??
