Hi Eddie,

it might be a cache issue. Did you try to clear the browser cache?

Test install and still problem ??

by edkgb, Sunday, June 13, 2010, 11:04 (5038 days ago) @ edkgb

Hello Alex,

I Have done the following but still have a problem.

Created a new database.
Uploaded version 2.2.2 to a test folder.

Installed and right from the start could not add a Topic. The same forbidden message.

Are there any tests I can do to try and resolve this ??

MLF has worked for several years, unfailing, up to around 8 June which is the last time I know it was ok having created a new topic, always used IE.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Hi Alex
I have gone back with test installs from v2.1 onwards.
The problem starts at V2.2

The changes to MLF at that time were:-
2.2 (2010-05-13)
----------------
Changes:
- New user settings: language, time zone and theme
- Server-side storage of read postings for registered users implemented
- JavaScript code completely rewritten
- New BBCode for TeX formulas (TeX formula)
- New thumbnail feature ([img=thumbnail]image URL[img])
- Template/CSS improvements (menus as unordered lists, CSS Sprites for
background images)
Edited files:
- all
Database changes:
- new colums in userdata table, new rows in settings table;
see update/update.sql

Can you please help as I have quite a few members who unable to post including myself.

Hi Eddie!

I couldn't reproduce the problems you described. Do these problems also appear here with this installation? Can you send me the address of your installation so I can have a look at it?

Hi Alex,
Many thanks for your reply.
I can post ok on your installation.
I have 2 forum setups plus the test forum.
The public one is at http://www.freedomclub.co.uk/forum/index.php this is at v2.2.3

The test forum is at http://www.freedomclub.co.uk/test/forum/index.php at v2.2

If you would like to see the members forum I need to set a password and username for you, which I will do by private email if you let me have an email address.
The same with FTP which I can set temporary access to the folders.

Alex,
First I would like to thank you for the help you were giving me last Friday.

If I run IE8 (8.0.6001.18928) in 'Compatibility' mode it's not possible to 'Post' or 'Preview' messages. It's possible that this may occur in previous versions.
