Admin -> Forum settings -> Advanced settings (at bottom of page)

Might this be text_word_maxlength?
I have however found that when this error occurs, it is generally due to a script error such as a missing "]" which can be easily overseen. I would suggest that careful consideration be used before changing the value, 70 characters is already pretty long for a single word...

You're right. I didn't pay close enough attention to his question and read it as "can anyone tell me where do adjust the wordS [instead of word] limited in posting a new thread."
I guess if I had bothered to read his subject line I wouldn't have made that mistake.
