email and NDM's (Features)

Some hints reg. the email function (MLF 1.7.5)

There are servers or anti spam methods, that don't allow mails coming from xxx@forum.tld to have other 'from:' origins (maybe SPF is checked):

SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<xxxx.yyyy@provider.tld>:
host xxx.provider.tld [10.20.30.40]: ...
The recipient does not accept mails from 'mail.xyz' over foreign mailservers

for instance. At best, these mails are put into the recipient's spam folder.

So wouldn't it be better to use the (or a special) forum address as 'from:', maybe no.reply.to@forum.tld or so instead of the user's address? I think SRS would be too complicated.

Perhaps some explanatory text should be auto-added to the beginning of the mail and the text at the end be modified (in the language file) to point out, that only the 'reply to:' should be used for an answer.

(Sorry, if that is already solved in MLF 2.0, but 1.7 seems to be widely used)

Another point of view:
If You 'succeed' in causing a Non Delivery Message as above, You'll get the recipient's email address without his intention.

Ok, the missing NDM's to the 'alleged' sender could be seen as a drawback, too...
