Deleting Logins without deleting it's posts? (General)

by Nico Hoffmann, (138 days ago)

Hello,

basically, the subject says it all: Is it possible top delete an account/member/login and keep its posts?

To my knowledge, deleting an account deletes automatically all its posts. Is there a way to keep the posts? Or am I wrong?

regards,

N.

Yes, you are wrong. When you delete a user account (over the user administration or the account entry in the user list), the default behaviour is, to transfer the user name to the entries of the user and to delete only the account itself (including relating subscriptions, entries in the read-entries-table and so on).

If the entries of the deleted user would also be deleted, the structure of many threads would be broken (broken parent-child-relations between the postings).

Tschö, Auge
