	I see that there is a new version of my little forum. However, it has a lot more files than version 1. So, I would like to stay with version 1. Is anyone else staying with version 1? Are there any known security issues with version 1?

Not finished yet (Release Candidate #7 as of today).

I think right no the majority of admins... ;-)

I don't think so; but if you keep the forum open (i.e., posting for not registered users allowed), you will have to face a lot more spam. Spam protection is definitely better implemented in v2.x.
On the other hand, with only the simple math-captcha for the registration- and contact-forms I haven't seen any spam comming through in the last 2 years in my forum (running 1.7.7).
