Problems with installing (my little forum)

Hey people, I am a rookie in this but i can´t install the forum, because of problems finding my database. I get these errors:

Database connection error - please check host, user and password (MySQL: Lost connection to MySQL server during query)

The database couldn't be created (MySQL: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1)

Please tell us more about your server environment! Is it your very own server? Which OS? HTTP server software? Or is it hosted? Does your hoster provide MySQL databases?
