Hi,

We use my little forum already from some time. We use it internaly on a student flat. But now we need to upgrade this forum without loosing data since there is data of 10 years. Is it possible to upgrade from version 1.6 to the newer version. Please can you be a help? Is there a tool that can migrate the database?

Best Regards,

John

Step 1: run an upgrade to version 1.7.6 because there is only a script for the upgrade from 1.7.x to 2.2

Step 2: Install mlf 2.2 into a separate directory

Step 3: Read the manual for the data-import-script 1.7 to 2.2 and run the import.

Step 4: If the forum is running with the old data, run an upgrade from 2.2 to version 2.3.4 (newest version (2015-04-23)).

Step 5: Delete the old forum and rename the directory of the new forum to the directory name of the old one.

Tschö, Auge

Hi Auge,
Thank you very much for your reply. I downloaded version 1.7 but I don't find an upgrade manual. So how do I upgrade this? Do I past this just into the directory and run the install.php

Hi Auge,

I manged to upgrade it to 1.7. It works now fine with this version. I will move to the next upgrade as soon as I have read the upgrade manual. Thanx for your support.
