Hi there,

does anyone have an idea when I could expect some response to my two issues regarding "backup limited to 10.0 MB" and "Update from Version 2.0 beta 26" ? We really love this forum software, but recently with the problem of missing backups we do feel very strange and hope to have a solution soon - thank you very much!

Just for your information:

we have recently - after running the forum for about one year

- 25.000 entries
- 2.400 threads
- 614 registered users
- approx. 15 users online mostly at evening time

So it is a well accepted, good growing forum place!

Best regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,

Have you tried separate backups instead of one complete backup?

Separate of full backup?

Hi Paul,

it happens also when trying to to separately backup the "entries" file (approx. 20 MB)

Separate of full backup?

Hi Micheal,

Well, see your own answer in the other posting.
Your PHP-admin doesn't allow imports/exports and though backups bigger than 10MB.

You're lucky. My PHP-admin is limited to 8,5MB. ;-)

(simple brainwave)
There is an option to make a copy of your entries tables. Make one and set this
table up as an archive. After that you can remove the older entries from your
active entries table.

Paul

"backup limited to 10.0 MB"

I have had the same problem like you due to a rather large MySQL database. Therefore the MLF internal backup procedure (admin area) failed every time. In my case this was a file size limitation set from my hoster. So I asked him for a higher value (64 MBytes) and some houres later the backup procedure reaches without any error the end and results in a 45 MByte complete backup file. Perhaps you should change your hoster, the little or medium one are commonly more flexible in solving such problems as the big players.
