Login issues in beta 2.1 RC 2

I added some information about this issue in another thread, but as it wasn't quite on the subject in that thread I'm starting a new. After updating to beta 2.1. RC 2 some of my users have problems logging in. Some see a blank white page, while some users get an "500 Internal Server Error". I know that some of the users have the "Log me in automatically" feature turned on.

The problem is usually solved when the cookies are deleted, but it reappears regularly. I have about 100 registered users daily, and several of them have already reported problems. I have two installations, and the problem occurs in both.

Does anyone know what may cause this?

You are of course correct; beta 2 not RC 2.

Does anyone know what may cause this?

This should be fixed in 2.1 beta 4, see here.

Ok, thanks. I tried to update, but the update function did not work from beta 2 to beta 4. Are there any database changes from 2 to 4 (except from updating the version number), or just changed files? In that case, what files are changed?

I used the list in update/update_2.0.x-2.1_beta_4.php. I guess that should be sufficient :-)
