Hello guys,

I got a quick question here:- What's the purpose of the column "tid" in entries table? How do we benifit from it ?

Any inputs would be highly appreciated.

Thanks and regards

Hello

It is the ID of the whole thread. Every posting has his own ID and the ID of the thread to which it belongs.

If you want to read a thread the script has only to look for postings with the thread ID. If it has to search for every posting wich is a child element of an other posting wich is a child element of an other posting ...

If I have a new post which logically belongs to a another thread, can I just go into the database and set change the tid of the new post to the tid of the other.

Will the threads be merged then?

Why don't you just use the "move" function?

Good idea :ok:

The "Move" function is only visible in some of the views, so I had completely forgotten about it.
