Blank screen after installation.

Having tried to install several times I am at the end of my wits: :-(

I tried to install My Little Forum:
- I did run the install
- After install the forum just opens as a blank screen.

Examination learned me:

-that the database is created and that all the database-fields are there.

- Viewing the source of the file "forum/index.php" after opening in InternetExplorer, where the forum should open, only contains this:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>
So the blank screen is a logical result.

- reading the file config/db_settings.php learned that this file contains the information I entered during installation.

- Then I checked if the filenames of the files which are going to be included, were not changed, during uploading, to capitals. But no, everything is just as in the zipfile.

- Tried to open the forum on several computers, but always the blank screen appears.

- I Deinstalled and re-installed the database again and again, just to make sure that I am not gone into some kind of banning. However after each installation the blankscreen is still there on opening the forum. I thought about this because in the to be included files the text //DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional// (see above) is only in de files "banned.inc.php"

Can anybody tell me what is happening?

Sorry, I can't. But I can tell you, that the HTML source code above comes originally from the MSIE and not from any script of the forum software. It seems that your webserver sends not HTML. If you use firefox try the addon live http headers to check this. Open live http headers and load the forum. Live http headers will log all sended and received http headers. Then you can read what the server 'says'.
