Tag Clouds - Input for all/registered users possible?

Hi Alex,

I just went through our forum to insert tags for the tag-cloud.
Because only admins are allowed to set these tags this is a $$$-work.
Wouldn´t it be better if (optional) all users / registered users could place their tags themselves?

I agree that it would be better if all registered users could add tags to their own topics.
Alfie wrote a few pros and cons about this topic back in 2007 when Alex tested the tag function, but it seems that Alex never answered :/

Hi Stefan,

this feature was intended to provide a possibility to rate good/important postings and make them better findable. If anyone can tag his postings, however, there's no such rating and IMHO no real benefit when searching.
