Hi Alex,

just discovered by chance that my profile in mlf2 is indexed by Google. This is not a good idea...
It's not possible prevent indexing in a robot.txt as it was in v1.x:

  User-agent: *
  Disallow: /contact.php
  Disallow: /user.php

Robot.txt calls for correct (complete) URIs; both lines below

  User-agent: *
  Disallow: /index.php?mode=user&show_user
  Disallow: /index.php?mode=user&show_user=

will not work.

Therefore another method must be applied.
At least all links to 'index.php?mode=user' must be extended by rel ="nofollow". It's quite common in other forums and also standard in Wikipedia to use this method for all external links too.

Hi Alfie,

...but also controversial. Moreover, a link to index.php?mode=user could also come from an extern page without rel="nofollow". To be sure the user area won't be indexed you need to set "User area" to "accessible by registered users only".

Hi Alex!

Theoretically yes, practically no (at least Google "found" my profile not through an external link). I was quite surprised to see private data (like my birthday) accessible by a net-search.

To be sure the user area won't be indexed you need to set "User area" to "accessible by registered users only".

Would youl please do so here? Thanks.
