Email to SMTP - wrong Syntax (Bugs)

by Robert, Germany, Monday, September 17, 2007, 11:12 (6038 days ago)

I post this bug some days ago, but the thread was deleted :-(

On Windows 2003, IIS 6 with php5, the Syntax with open "<" and closed ">" is wrong and not RFC Standard. The Email-Server cancel this, and regsitration can't complete. I can post the Server-Log again if needed.

Thanks Robert

Hi Robert,

On Windows 2003, IIS 6 with php5, the Syntax with open "<" and closed ">" is wrong and not RFC Standard.

How would it be correct according to the RFC standard?

Hi Robert!

... the Syntax with open "<" and closed ">" is wrong and not RFC Standard.

Which RFC are you referring to?

RFC 2822 states:

Normally, a mailbox is comprised of two parts:
(1) an optional display name that indicates the name of the
recipient (which could be a person or a system) that
could be displayed to the user of a mail application, and
(2) an addr-spec address enclosed in angle brackets ( "<" and ">" ).
