I installed the web app but having some bugs so I came here to list them. First of all, I couldn't implement the theme so whole app is just plain text on a white page.

This is possibly the result of a missing trailing slash in the forum address, given during the installation process. Please check the setting forum_address in the advanced settings in the admin area or with a tool like phpMyAdmin (table mlf2_settings (this is the default name, your table name can be different)).

Let's take our own forum address as an example.

wrong:

https://mylittleforum.net/forum

correct:

https://mylittleforum.net/forum/

Secondly, formatting buttons in the text area doesn't appear as it is in the demo and also emojis are not clickable.

Are you able to provide a screenshot? If you can see a detailed description how to add the bb-codes manually instead of the buttons similar to the description in my screenshot below, the buttons get not rendered because of missing JS-ressources. I strongly tend to assume the same cause than for the stylesheets (the missing trailing slash for the setting forum_address).
