I agree. It is difficult to predict how a forum is accessed from server-logs. For some installations access from touch-devices (smartphones, tablets) is substantial, for others it is negligble.

Sorry, but mlf1 is not appropriate to set a standard in accessibility. The HTML- and CSS-code-structure of mlf1 is not qualified to be accessed with mobile devices. It's a chicken-and-egg question if you haven't mobile users because they don't want to use mobile devices or because they have such devices but can't read the forum with it.
