I don't want users to be mailed after registered. I want them
activated automatically.

There are 3 Ways. The User can register:

• self
  
• self but new accounts have to be unlocked by an admin or a moderator
  
• only by admin

Choose the first (or the second) option in the forum-settings.

Ahem, she want's the first way, but without the confirmation email to the user.

@veronica: This would be a security issue. Everybody (including i.e. spam bots) could register without any control. The way it is, is for your own security as the forum operator. IMHO it is not to much work for an user to take some minutes and to follow the two steps. Remember: It's for your own security!
