Update from version 1.7* to 2.2
To make an update from version 1.7* to version 2.2 please do the following:
- Download and unzip this backup script: backup_1.7-2.2.zip
- Create a directory with write permissions (CHMOD 777) on the server where my little forum 1.7 is installed (e.g. http://yourdomain.tld/forum/backup/)
- Upload the file backup.php into the just created directory
- Run the backup script by accessing http://yourdomain.tld/forum/backup/backup.php in your web browser
- Fill out and submit the form, the backup file should then be created
- After the file was created you can download it (right click → "Save link as..." or similar)
- This backup file can be imported into version 2.2 with a tool like phpMyAdmin or the backup function of version 2.2
- Install my little forum 2.2 if you haven't installed it yet (see Installation) but as a precaution keep the 1.7 database tables until all data is properly imported into version 2.2
Using phpMyAdmin to import the backup into version 2.2:
- Select the database which is used by my little forum 2.2
- Choose "import" and upload the backup file (charset: utf8)
Using the backup function in version 2.2:
- Upload the backup file into the directory "backup"
- Log in, go to "Admin" → "Backup or restore database" and restore the backup file
